Which one for which kitchen?

The Encore ESP Pro is 130 mm wide, 150 mm deep and 340 mm tall, and the Smart Grinder Pro is 160 mm wide, 215 mm deep and 389 mm tall. The Encore ESP Pro is 30 mm narrower, 65 mm shallower and 49 mm shorter, so a small corner or a low shelf points to it. The hopper is the largest daily difference: 200 g on the Encore ESP Pro against 18 oz, about 510 g, on the Smart Grinder Pro. Both use conical burrs, both run on 120 V and both carry a one-year warranty.

Their adjustment and dosing differ. Baratza lists the Encore ESP Pro as stepless with no numbered settings, with a Single Dose Mode that stops on its own and a timer with 0.1 second accuracy. Breville lists 60 stepped settings, a digital timer and portafilter cradles for 50 to 54 mm and 58 mm baskets. Both grind into a portafilter. Choose the Encore ESP Pro for the small footprint and stepless adjustment. Choose the Smart Grinder Pro if you fill a large hopper once for several days or want cradles for both basket sizes.

Your counter decides it.

If the counter is tight: the Encore ESP Pro Coffee. If you have the depth: the Smart Grinder Pro.

Between 5.9 in (15 cm) and 8.5 in (21.5 cm) only the Encore ESP Pro Coffee Grinder (ZCG595) clears. At 8.5 in (21.5 cm) or more the depth decides nothing, and under 5.9 in (15 cm) neither of them fits. (manufacturer)
