How we work

Sourced, per claim

Every product fact in a Setistry guide - a dimension, a heat-up figure, a tank capacity - is taken from manufacturer or merchant documentation, and the source is recorded against the specific claim it supports. Where a fact appears on a product card it carries the kind of source it came from - a manufacturer, a retailer listing, a proxy, or our own assumption - beside the claim itself, so a retailer characterising something is never read as a manufacturer figure.

Budget bands are the exception, and they are our own. A band is an editorial range for where a product tends to sit, not a sourced figure and not a price. Where we hold a checked price that actually falls inside the band, the page says so; where we do not, the band is not shown as a fact about that product.

What we do not do

We do not test products hands-on unless a page explicitly says otherwise. We do not publish ratings, star scores, review counts or "lab results", and we do not use imagery that implies testing that did not happen. Where a useful fact is not available from a source, we say it is unavailable instead of estimating it.

Editorial independence

Recommendations are decided by the research, the space constraints and the budget framing of each guide - never by commission rates. If a link earns us anything it is marked "(affiliate link)" where it appears, and the full picture is on the affiliate disclosure page.

Specifications change. If you find a claim that no longer matches the source, tell us - we correct the page and update its date.
