Which one for which kitchen?

The Classic E24 is the shallower machine at 270 mm deep (Gaggia), against 320 mm for the Bambino Plus. That Bambino figure comes from a retailer's listing, Seattle Coffee Gear, so treat it as the weaker of the two. The widths are 200 mm and 196 mm, a gap of 4 mm. Breville's published heights for the Bambino Plus differ from one another, so no height is used. The Bambino Plus is the lighter machine, 4.95 kg per Breville against the Classic's 8.1 kg, and the heavier draw on the circuit: 1560 W against 1350 W, both on 120 V.

What you handle each morning differs more than the footprint. Breville lists a 54 mm portafilter, a three-second ThermoJet heat-up and an automatic steam wand with three milk temperatures and three texture levels. Gaggia lists a 58 mm basket and a 2.1 L tank you can fill without removing it, and its manual advises starting with the supplied pressurized crema perfetta filter. The Bambino Plus tank comes out from the top and holds 64 fl oz. Pick the Bambino Plus if you want the automatic wand and the quick heat-up. Pick the Classic E24 if the counter is shallow, or if you want the larger basket and the bigger tank.
