Scales

This category lists coffee scales with the size each maker prints, and the weight where the maker states it. A scale takes almost no counter, so the place you need it to sit decides the choice, and that place is one of two.

For espresso, the scale stands on the drip tray under the cup. Height decides here, because the cup and the scale share the space between the drip tray and the group head. Acaia labels the Lunar (2021) 15 mm high. Timemore prints the Basic 3.0 as 140 by 120 by 20 mm without saying which figure is which. Read your machine's cup clearance first and take the scale's height out of it.

For pour-over, the scale sits beside the kettle and footprint decides instead. Acaia labels the Lunar 105 mm wide and 105 mm long. Both makers state a weighing range up to 2000 g.

The Basic 3.0 is sold with a timer, and Acaia lists a two-year warranty on the Lunar that covers water damage, which matters on a drip tray. Open the spec table to compare the sizes, and open a product to see where each figure comes from and its date.
